TRIPLED INVENTORY VOLUMES MANAGED

OPTIMIZED SPACE UTILIZATION AND SPEED IN HANDLING

REDUCED MANAGEMENT COSTS WITH POSITIVE PAYBACK
Requirement
Faced with the imperative to enhance logistics performance and unable to expand its regional warehouse in Kalbakken (Oslo), ASKO strongly aimed at intralogistics automation. So, in 2018, it asked its long-time partner ITO PallPack for an initial technological solution. In 2022, a decisive enhancement for improving performance was undertaken: integrating the pallet shuttle system ESMARTSHUTTLE®, designed and patented by Eurofork®.
“This latest development is an extension and empowerment of the first one carried out about six years ago”, says Bent Maehre, Sales Manager of ITO PallPack. Before adopting the ITO and Eurofork® solution, pallets and containers for shipments were stack-stored and managed manually.
“ASKO’s requirement was not only to increase storage density, optimising the use of available space but also to expedite pallet and container movement to shipping bays to prepare three loaded trucks complete per hour – explains Bent Maehre -. Actually, speed in handling was a primary driver in the task realized with Eurofork®”.
